Host Biography

Carter Oosterhouse is co-host for season 11 of ABC's "The Great Christmas Light Fight" airing November 2023. Oosterhouse is one of America's most recognized lifestyle experts. He is best known for hosting many popular television series ranging from "Carter Can," "Red Hot & Green" and "Trading Spaces" to "Celebrity Motor Homes" and "Million Dollar Rooms."

Oosterhouse is the co-host of ABC's hit primetime series special "The Great Halloween Fright Fight," which aired its second season this past October. He was most recently featured on two seasons of TLC's "Trading Spaces" reboot and is currently filming a project for Magnolia, where he is renovating his 100-year-old barn.

Outside of television, Oosterhouse is an authority in eco-living and spends much of his free time working with his nonprofit, Carter's Kids, where they construct safe, nontoxic playgrounds all across the U.S. Oosterhouse splits his time between Atlanta, Georgia, and Traverse City, Michigan, with his wife, actress Amy Smart, and their 3-year-old daughter, Flora.
